JR Kyushu will operate the ‘Rapid Yufuin・Aso’ during the September holidays.
The service will be run by connecting three Series 50 passenger cars used for the SL Hitoyoshi. The ‘Rapid Yufuin’ will operate between Kurume and Yufuin Station on the Kyudai Main Line on September 14th, 16th, 21st, and 23rd, with one round trip per day, stopping at Hita Station en route. The ‘Rapid Aso’ will operate between Kumamoto and Aso Station on the Hohi Main Line on September 15th and 22nd, with one round trip per day. There are no intermediate stops, but the ascending train will stop at Tateno Station for 20 minutes, allowing passengers to disembark and take photos.
All seats are reserved, with a fare of 1,680 yen for adults and 840 yen for children. Tickets will be sold from 10 am one month prior to the departure date at all ‘Midori no Madoguchi’ counters and via ‘JR Kyushu Internet Train Reservation’.
