Nintendo Museum Opens in Uji City, Kyoto on October 2, Featuring Historical Exhibits
Nintendo is set to open the “Nintendo Museum” in Uji City, Kyoto on October 2.
This facility allows visitors to explore the history of entertainment and the company’s dedication to craftsmanship through exhibits and interactive experiences. It features exhibits of past products, interactive corners using the company’s technology, and workshops on making “Hanafuda” (Japanese playing cards), which are considered the origin of the company. Additionally, a cafe selling special drinks and original hamburgers, as well as a shop offering official merchandise and limited-edition products, will be available.
Entrance tickets will be sold via a lottery system, with applications accepted on the website from the beginning to the end of the month, three months prior to the visit. The museum operates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is located a 5-minute walk from Kintetsu Kyoto Line’s Ogura Station, and an 8-minute walk from JR Nara Line’s JR Ogura Station.
