Fukuoka Airport International Terminal Grand Opening on March 28, 2025
Fukuoka Airport International Lounge ‘Lounge Fukuoka’ Reopens after Renovation
Fukuoka International Airport announces the reopening of its international terminal lounge, ‘Lounge Fukuoka’, on September 27th, following renovations.
The renovations coincide with the government’s runway addition project, necessitating the international terminal building’s enlargement and refurbishment. The lounge has relocated to the third floor, providing a space that offers a sweeping view of the runway and more than doubling in size to 1,242 square meters.
The spatial design concept of ‘Creation of Fukuoka’ showcases the region’s cultural heritage, including a greeting by ‘Golden Age Dragon Dance’ created by Hakata doll artist Hirohō Nakamura, along with Okawa kumiko, Hakata weaving, Koishiwara ware, and other traditional Fukuoka crafts sprinkled throughout the lounge. Fukuoka-style comfort is further enhanced with sofas and tables incorporating locally sourced rush grass.
The lounge features a ‘Relaxation Zone’ with many sofa seats and a raised seating area, and a ‘Business Zone’ equipped with counter seats, workspaces, and web conferencing booths, catering to travelers on business. The seating capacity is 216. The snack and drink menu has been doubled, offering staple items like curry in addition to new additions such as Mentaiko France and Hakata ramen, famous local delicacies, along with sake and shochu from Fukuoka Prefecture.
The lounge is available to individuals designated by contracted airlines and members of the ‘Priority Pass’ issued by the Collinson Group. Located in the restricted area on the fourth floor, it operates from the start of departure immigration until the last flight boarding of the operating airlines.
