Delta Airlines to Launch Seasonal Scheduled Flights from New York/JFK to Lagos Starting December 1
Malaysia Airlines Awarded Air Traffic Rights for Tokyo/Haneda to Kota Kinabalu Route by MAVCOM
The Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) has announced its decision to grant air traffic rights to Malaysia Airlines for the operation of the Tokyo/Haneda to Kota Kinabalu route.
Ticket sales have already started, with flights from Tokyo/Haneda scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays, and flights from Kota Kinabalu on Mondays and Thursdays, operating twice weekly starting from February 24, 2025. The route will be serviced using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and will be codeshared with Japan Airlines (JAL).
MAVCOM determines the allocation of air traffic rights based on considerations of demand, consumer benefits, service quality, and the impact on Malaysia’s airports and aviation industry. Airlines granted these rights must adhere to specified conditions, or risk temporary suspension or revocation of the decision. Assigned airlines are required to commence all allocated flights within six months from the start date of validity, with unused rights being subject to cancellation.
