Safety Rating for Chartered Buses in Japan, Top Rank Reaches 1,032 Operators
The Safety Evaluation Accreditation Committee for Chartered Bus Operators, based on the “Chartered Bus Operator Safety Evaluation Accreditation System” conducted by the Japan Bus Association, has accredited the safety of 2,024 chartered bus operators.
The highest rank of three stars increased from 915 to 1,032 operators. Two stars decreased from 344 to 245 operators, and one star from 777 to 747 operators. The total number of accredited operators is 2,024, with over half of all chartered bus operators as of the end of September receiving accreditation. A total of 106 operators were newly accredited.
One star is awarded to operators scoring over 60 points, two stars for operators maintaining one star for two years with scores over 80 points, and three stars for those maintaining two stars for two years with scores over 80 points.
