Kyoto Tango Railway Collaborates with PomPomPurin: Running a Themed Train and More
Hankyu Railway to Support Contactless Payment Fares Starting October 29
Hankyu Railway will support boarding with contactless payments starting October 29.
This initiative will be carried out in collaboration with Sumitomo Mitsui Card, Visa Worldwide Japan, JCB, Toshiba Infrastructure Systems, and QUADRAC, utilizing the ‘stera transit’ provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card.
By touching a card or smartphone that supports contactless payments to a newly installed dedicated reader at the ticket gates, passengers can enter and exit the station. The supported brands are Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, and UnionPay. Mastercard is planned to be added sequentially.
All 87 stations are targeted, except for Osaka Metro Sakaisuji Line Tanimachi Rokuchome Station. Each station will install at least one ticket gate equipped with a dedicated reader.
