Meitetsu Bus Initiates Boarding Service with Touch Payment on ‘Centrair Limousine’, Also Launches a Demonstration Operation of a Completely Cashless Bus

Meitetsu Bus has started a boarding service using touch payment on the ‘Centrair Limousine’ from November 1.

In collaboration with Sumitomo Mitsui Card, JCB, Recip, and QUADRAC, this service utilizes ‘stera transit’, a public transportation solution provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card, to enable boarding with touch payment cards or smartphones set up with these cards.

The target route is the Centrair Limousine (Fushimi, Sakae to Chubu Centrair International Airport line). This route has been selected for the ‘Completely Cashless Bus Demonstration Operation’ promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and from November 1, 2023, to February 28, 2025, it will operate an additional round trip as a ‘Completely Cashless Bus Demonstration Operation’.
