Hiraku Opens ‘Neowasu Book & Hotel’ in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi on November 2
Hiraku has grand-opened ‘Neowasu Book & Hotel’ on November 2, in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The concept is ‘Bookstores are interesting at night’. The building is seven stories high, with the hotel part located from the fourth to the seventh floor. There are a total of 39 rooms. There are four themed concept rooms: ‘Language -koto-‘, themed around food; ‘Silence -moku-‘, themed around travel; ‘Read -toku-‘, themed around animals; and ‘Literature -fumi-‘, themed around manga. Each room is filled with around 1,000 books selected by a book director according to the theme, with bookshelves covering one wall. Even standard and top-floor rooms each come with their own unique book themes.
Guests have exclusive access to ‘Neowasu Book & Cafe’ from 9 PM to 5 AM, where they can enjoy reading with a lantern provided individually in the dimly lit cafe. The facility also features a cafe with an attached bookstore selling about 20,000 books, ‘Neowasu Book & Cafe’, and ‘Restaurant Neohas’ where guests can enjoy dishes made with ingredients from Shimonoseki. The facility is operated by Hayashi Housing.
