MAG Reveals Malaysia Airlines’ Airbus A330neo
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has unveiled the first Airbus A330-900 aircraft (registration number: 9M-MNG) introduced by its subsidiary, Malaysia Airlines, at the MAB Engineering Complex.
This aircraft is the first out of 20 being leased from Avolon, with 10 being on a sale-and-leaseback arrangement and the remainder being delivered from Avolon’s order book through 2028.
The cabin is configured with 28 business class and 269 economy class seats, totaling 297 seats. The business class features a “1-2-1” layout with doors, adopting Collins Aerospace’s Elevation product. It offers a more extensive personal space, overhead bins, the latest in-flight entertainment including FlightPath3D, and free high-speed Wi-Fi. Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, it can reduce fuel and carbon dioxide emissions by 14% compared to previous generation aircraft.
The inaugural flight will be from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne on December 19th, with subsequent service planned on long-haul routes between Asia and Australia.
