Jeju Air to Reduce Capacity by up to 15%, Suspends Sales for Nagasaki-Muan Route
Jeju Air has announced a reduction in capacity of 10 to 15% during the winter schedule period.
This decision comes in the wake of an incident at Muan International Airport on December 29, aimed at enhancing operational stability. As the only route from Muan to Japan, ticket sales for the Nagasaki-Muan route, which was launched as a charter service with three flights a week starting December 10, have been suspended.
The Chosun Ilbo reported that within 24 hours after the incident, flight cancellations reached approximately 68,000.
Additionally, due to the closure of the runway at Muan International Airport, 20 international flights and 7 domestic flights, totaling 27 flights, have been canceled, with plans to provide refunds or changes, and alternative transportation via land.
