United Airlines is accelerating the schedule for introducing Starlink.
It plans to install Starlink on Embraer E175 aircraft by spring, carrying out the initial commercial flight. By the end of the year, it aims to equip all two-class regional aircraft. Mainline flights will start to see installations by the end of the year as well, eventually expanding to the entire fleet. MileagePlus members will be able to use it for free, enabling access to streaming and gaming, among other services.
In September 2024, United Airlines and SpaceX announced what they called the largest deal in the industry for installing Starlink across the entire fleet.
