Starlux Airlines Places Additional Orders for Five Airbus A350Fs

Starlux Airlines has placed additional orders for five Airbus A350F cargo aircraft.

At the 2024 Singapore Airshow, the airline had ordered five units of the Airbus A350F, becoming the first airline in Taiwan to operate this model. This brings their total to ten units, which will be deployed on high-demand cargo routes.

The Airbus A350F boasts a maximum payload capacity of 111 tons and a maximum range of 8,700 kilometers. It is optimized primarily for industry-standard pallets and containers, featuring the industry’s largest main deck cargo door. Employing over 70% advanced materials, its takeoff weight is 46 tons lighter than competing aircraft. Powered by Rolls-Royce’s XWB97 engines, it can reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40% compared to older Boeing 747F models and by up to 20% compared to competing aircraft.

According to Starlux Airlines’ announcement, the purchase amount totals up to 1.565 billion USD. Additionally, the airline has purchased one spare XWB97 engine from Rolls-Royce.
