Haneda Airport Introduces ‘RBAS’ Ramp Bus Allocation System
Fraport has introduced walkthrough scanners at the security checkpoints of Frankfurt Airport.
The device introduced is the R&S QPS Walk2000 from Rohde & Schwarz, which was approved for world-first implementation by the German Federal Police after approximately a year of testing in Concourse A of Terminal 1.
Leveraging millimeter wave technology, it can identify potentially dangerous objects in real-time by penetrating clothing. Thus, users can complete security checks simply by walking through the scanner at a normal pace, without needing to stop during scanning as in the past. If an alarm is raised, personnel will inspect the specified area.
In the future, it will be expanded to additional security lanes at Terminal 1 and will also be introduced at Terminal 3. Fraport has invested approximately 22 million euros in security checks to date. (Photo: Fraport AG)
