Lufthansa German Airlines has launched a baggage drop-off service at homes and hotels.
Initially available for flights departing from Frankfurt, the service is provided in partnership with technology provider AirPortr. Reservations can be made up to 36 hours before departure, and the service is available in limited areas. The fee starts at 25 euros and varies depending on the location and collection time.
After pickup, the luggage is sealed and checked in at the airport. Users can receive real-time updates through a personal tracking link and a digital baggage tag receipt. This allows them to proceed directly to security checks upon arrival at the airport and retrieve their luggage at the security checkpoint at the destination.
