Thai Airways and Kansas Modification Center (KMC) will establish a joint venture company for converting Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft into freighters.
Kansas Modification Center excels in the modification technology of installing cargo doors at the front of Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. This modification improves weight efficiency, allowing for long-distance cargo transport. It is the first time offering modification technology in Southeast Asia.
The Thai government has shown a policy of positioning Thailand as an aviation hub in Southeast Asia, aiming to strengthen the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) industry. The modifications will be carried out at Don Mueang in Bangkok and at the MRO center of the Eastern Economic Corridor in Thailand’s eastern three provinces.
