All Nippon Airways (ANA) will increase the fees for upgrading to premium class.
Starting from May 19, 2026, in conjunction with the application of new domestic fares, the upgrade fees will be unified into either the current “same-day upgrade fee” or the “advance upgrade fee,” which is 1,000 yen cheaper than the same-day upgrade fee. While most will remain the same as the current same-day upgrade fee, the Tokyo to Okinawa/Naha・Ishigaki line will be raised to 18,000 yen.
The Tokyo to Okinawa/Naha・Ishigaki line currently has an advance upgrade fee of 14,000 yen and a same-day upgrade fee of 15,000 yen, which is cheaper than Japan Airlines (JAL)’s same-day upgrade fee from economy to first class at 15,400 yen, but with the increase, it will be more expensive than JAL.
From the same day, upgrades with miles will also be possible. The required number of miles will be the same as the upgrade fee in miles.
