Finnair Flights Affected by Strike on June 17 and 19
Finnair has reached a labor agreement with its pilots.
Negotiations had been ongoing since August 2024. The agreement term is three years, with the final year being optional, pending approval by the management departments of both parties.
Due to the protracted labor-management discussions, pilots had been refusing standby duty and overtime since December 2024, which also forced a reduction in wet lease operations. Consequently, in April this year, the decision was made to temporarily furlough 36 pilots on long-haul routes.
Meanwhile, at Helsinki Vantaa International Airport, strikes in aircraft maintenance, ground operations, and catering departments have been taking place since May, affecting flight operations. Disruptions are expected on June 11, 17, and 19.
