The Ritz-Carlton Osaka Completes Major Room Renovation
Mesm Tokyo, in collaboration with the New National Theatre, will offer lunch and dinner themed around the ballet Ashton version of “Cinderella” from June 20 to October 26.
Following the December 2024 program themed on the opera “The Magic Flute,” this second installment expresses motifs filled with dreams and magic, such as the “pumpkin carriage” and “fairies of the four seasons,” in a bistronomic style.
An example from the lunch menu includes an amuse themed around the cinder-covered girl, “Kesennuma Bonito and Eggplant Ensemble” featuring marinated bonito from Kesennuma, sautéed fish wrapped in a fennel veil to depict the stepsisters eagerly preparing for the ball, and “Lamb Pie With a Scent of Lemon Balm,” where lamb is concealed with lemon balm, wrapped in a chicken mousse with mushrooms, and baked in a fragrant puff pastry.
For dinner, they offer an appetizer of turnip, lobster, and fromage blanc layered in a tart-shaped phyllo, with lily bulb and fromage blanc paste crafted in a Mont Blanc style, “Sautéed Grouper with Herb Scent,” where potatoes colored with bamboo charcoal are cut into pasta-like forms and served with potato puree depicting the clock striking ’12,’ and “Roasted Kyoto Duck with Seasonal Vegetables,” a dish that suggests the story’s finale with a “glass slipper” made of rice paper.
The venue is the 16th floor French dining “Chef’s Theater,” with lunch served from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM (last order at 2:00 PM) and dinner from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM (last order at 8:30 PM). Prices are 7,600 yen for lunch and 15,800 yen for dinner, inclusive of tax and service charges.
