ANA Unveils New Business Class “THE Room FX”
Chubu Centrair International Airport is known for having many facilities that support the common lounge service “Priority Pass” provided by the Collinson Group. One such facility, “Botejyu Chubu Centrair International Airport,” is currently closed for renovations until July 31. In the meantime, the restaurant offers a special menu for Priority Pass members, which we had the chance to try.
The exclusive menu is available at a “temporary sales location.” It’s located on the 4th floor of Terminal 1, opposite the under-renovation restaurant, within Brick Avenue, near Komeda’s Coffee and Yabaton (Image: Chubu Centrair International Airport official website).
The setup uses an empty space and is simple, marked by a Botejyu banner. The reception proceeded smoothly by simply presenting the Priority Pass card and boarding pass as usual.
The menu is exclusively for takeout and consists of the “Botejyu Gourmet Set,” which includes takoyaki (6 pieces), award-winning karaage “Botekara” (4 pieces), rice, a mixed juice, and Osaka confectionery Milk Manju “Yappari Sukiyanen” (6 pieces in a box). Although okonomiyaki which was on the usual menu was not included, it was understandable given that the restaurant being renovated cannot use the grill.
When I visited, the stock had just run out, so tickets were distributed, and I was instructed to wait for a while. In less than 5 minutes, staff arrived at the sales location carrying multiple paper bags. It seemed that items prepared in the back were brought out, and the paper bags along with the mixed juice were handed out in order of ticket numbers.
Upon visiting around 8 PM on the first day of temporary sales on June 1, rice and Botekara were sold out, and instead, two servings of takoyaki were offered. The takoyaki sauce and mayonnaise were not applied but provided in small bottles separately, while bonito flakes were unfortunately not included. The mixed juice was consumed before passing through the security checkpoint.
When revisiting the location later, I was able to enjoy the “full” menu. It was quite as per the photos. The rice was packed alongside the Botekara in the container likely meant for the okonomiyaki.
Everything tasted great, and despite being a limited menu, it was greatly appreciated that service was provided even while the restaurant was under renovation. The temporary sales location will operate until June 30. I am eagerly awaiting the day Okonomiyaki can be enjoyed again when the restaurant reopens on August 1.
