KKday Suspends Sales of BB-Trip Offerings Over Unlicensed Taxi Arrangements; Contract Termination Under Consideration, Continues Sales of Group Company Products

KKDAY JAPAN, the operator of the optional tour booking site ‘KKday’, has expressed its intention to consider terminating its contract with BB-Trip, which has been pointed out by this magazine for arranging illegal passenger transportation, commonly known as ‘white taxis’.

Following the report on December 13th by this magazine, the company acknowledged BB-Trip’s involvement in arranging ‘white taxis’ and has suspended listings and sales from that date. They are currently confirming the facts with BB-Trip and are considering procedures for contract termination.

KKday and BB-Trip had a contract as a matching platform for users. Since reservations are currently established between both parties, it is difficult for KKday to cancel directly. KKday has requested legal transportation via green-plated vehicles or cancellation arrangements accordingly.

On the other hand, products from Bb Global Travel, a group company of BB-Trip based in Singapore, are still being sold as of the time of writing this article. This includes shuttle services to and from Haneda Airport, Narita Airport, and Yokohama Port.

KKday states, “We deeply regret that our monitoring was not thorough,” in response to the oversight.
