Japan Airlines (JAL) has launched a cell transportation service, ‘J SOLUTIONS PHARMA CELLS,’ to cater to regenerative medicine.
In addition to handling frozen cells, the service accommodates the transport of live cells and cell-derived products, which have stringent time constraints and high handling difficulty. It enables delivery as quickly as 90 minutes before departure and 90 minutes after arrival. The service also allows for transport isolated from other cargo to reduce contamination risks.
The JAL Group has acquired the CEIV Pharma certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and has established dedicated pharmaceutical warehouses at Narita International Airport and Kansai International Airport. With the market size in the field of regenerative medicine expected to expand more than tenfold over the next decade, JAL aims to contribute to the development of next-generation medicine and resolve social issues.
