
Air France-KLM and Qantas Use Haneda as New Transit Hub
The Japan-Czech Aviation Agreement will come into effect on October 1.
Government negotiations began in July 2019, substantive agreement was reached in July 2023, and the signing took place in February 2024.
The agreement establishes a legal framework that enables the stable operation of regular air services between Japan and the Czech Republic. It grants mutual rights to operate regular air services, sets basic principles for determining transport capacity, principles and procedures concerning fares, exemptions from tariffs on aircraft fuel usage, and ensures measures for aviation security and safety. The agreement is expected to further promote personal and economic exchanges between Japan and the Czech Republic.
