Japan Airlines (JAL)’s 10th Airbus A350-1000 aircraft (registration code: JA10WJ) departed from Toulouse, France, on July 17 local time. It is expected to arrive at Haneda Airport this afternoon, July 18.
The Airbus A350-1000 is the new international flagship aircraft, succeeding the current mainstay Boeing 777-300ER on international routes. The cabin is configured with 239 seats across four classes, featuring six first-class seats in a “1-1-1” layout, 54 business-class seats in a “1-2-1” layout, 24 premium economy seats in a “2-4-2” layout, and 155 economy seats in a “3-3-3” layout. For the first time, JAL’s first and business classes offer private suites with doors. All classes are equipped with 4K resolution monitors in the in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems, which can connect with wireless headphones via Bluetooth.
JAL has ordered a total of 13 aircraft, with the first delivered on December 15, 2023, followed by the second on January 15, 2024, the third on March 31, the fourth on August 1, the fifth on August 11, the sixth on October 3, the eighth on December 7, the ninth on January 30, 2025, and the 10th on April 24. The same type of aircraft commenced service on January 24, 2024, operating flights to New York, Dallas, London, Paris, and Los Angeles.
