
JAL Receives 10th Airbus A350-1000 Aircraft, Arriving at Haneda Today
Japan Airlines (JAL)’s 10th Airbus A350-1000 aircraft (registration: JA10WJ) arrived at Haneda Airport in the afternoon on July 18.
Operating as JL8102 with three flight crew, the aircraft departed from Airbus’ factory in Toulouse, France on July 17 at 5:36 PM and took off at 56 minutes past the hour. It flew a southern route passing through Italy, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and China, landing at Haneda Airport at 1:56 PM on the 18th and arriving at Spot 214 at 2:04 PM.
The Airbus A350-1000 is set to be the new international flagship aircraft replacing the current mainstay Boeing 777-300ER for international routes. It features a configuration with 239 seats across four classes: First Class with six seats in a “1-1-1” layout, Business Class with 54 seats in a “1-2-1” layout, Premium Economy Class with 24 seats in a “2-4-2” layout, and Economy Class with 155 seats in a “3-3-3” layout. JAL introduces private suites with doors for the first time in both First and Business Class. Inflight entertainment (IFE) across all classes includes 4K resolution monitors that can connect to wireless earbuds via Bluetooth.
A total of 13 aircraft have been ordered. The first aircraft arrived on December 15, 2023, followed by the second on January 15, 2024, the third on March 31, the fourth on August 1, the fifth on August 11, the sixth on October 3, the eighth on December 7, the ninth on January 30, 2025, and the seventh on April 24. The aircraft entered service on January 24, 2024, operating routes to destinations like New York, Dallas, London, Paris, and Los Angeles.
