Starlux Airlines will operate flights between Shimojishima and Taipei/Taoyuan from August 22 to October 24 on a limited-time basis.
The charter flights will operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The service will use Airbus A321neo aircraft configured with 188 seats. The flight time is 1 hour and 10 minutes from Shimojishima, and 1 hour and 20 minutes from Taipei/Taoyuan.
This marks the first Taiwanese route to originate from Shimojishima. Additionally, the airline has announced it will increase the frequency of flights between Okinawa/Naha and Taipei/Taoyuan and Taichung during the summer season.
