Volcanic Eruption on Kamchatka Peninsula Causes Major Delays for Japan-Europe and Japan-America Flights
AirJapan is holding a special in-flight event called ‘Catch Summer Memories Onboard! AirJapan Gacha!’ from July 25 to August 31.
Due to the popularity of last year’s ‘Summer Festival in the Sky,’ which was inspired by the ideas of cabin attendants, this year, since May, the planning began again. The project involved four cabin attendants as the main members, supported by two cabin service managers and three marketing department staff, totaling nine members in the project team.
The decision to implement ‘Gacha’ was due to its alignment with Japanese cultural items, delivering an exciting experience, and its popularity among foreign users, making it a highly acclaimed Japanese item overseas. Safety and comfort were considered, and after practical verification, the decision was made to store the ‘Gacha’ in carts. Although finding a ‘Gacha’ of a size that fits the cart was difficult, the idea from an employee with a maintenance background allowed for modification and storage. Prizes include flight tags designed by cabin attendants (four types) and stickers inspired by in-flight meals (three types), all fitting within capsules to avoid accidental swallowing by children. Additionally, a flight voucher worth 10,000 yen is also available.
Target routes are from Tokyo/Narita to Bangkok and Singapore, and participants can join by purchasing over 2,000 yen from the in-flight purchase menu. There are plans to consider hosting events next summer as well. (Photo: AirJapan)
