Potential Large-Scale Strike at South Korean Airports During Chuseok (Sep 19–Oct 9)
Japan Airlines (JAL) will end the Life Status Points accrual service on the “JAL Furusato Nozei” hometown tax donation platform in Japan on September 30.
Initially, since the points were not designed to be used on their own and were intended to contribute to improving service status within the JAL Group, the company had planned to continue the service beyond October on the premise that it did not fall under the purpose of the latest system revision.
After careful confirmation and coordination with relevant parties, JAL decided to end the service, judging comprehensively that it has not received sufficient assurances at this time that continuation is possible, and that continuation could potentially affect municipalities.
Mileage accrual through JAL Card payments and payments made with points exchanged from miles will continue.
