JR Hokkaido to Expand ‘Kitaca’ Service Area to Hakodate and Asahikawa
JR Hokkaido will expand the area of its IC card ‘Kitaca’ in March 2024.
The Kitaca will be usable at the following stations in the Hakodate area: Hakodate, Goryokaku, Kikyo, Onuma, Nanae, and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, and in the Asahikawa area at the following stations: Mineyanagi, Mitsumata, Bibai, Chashinai, Nainai, Toynuma, Sunagawa, Takikawa, Ebetsu, Memuro, Fukagawa, Osashima, Chikabumi, and Asahikawa.
Additionally, a ‘Ticketless Service for Ekibenet Reserved Seats’ will be introduced for limited express trains between Sapporo and Asahikawa stations, allowing passengers to reserve seats on the Ekibenet system and use the service without the need to pick up tickets. Ordinary and Green car reserved seats for the limited express trains ‘Kamui’ and ‘Lilac’ will be eligible for this service.
