Hong Kong Airlines launched the Hong Kong–Lijiang route on September 8.
It operates three roundtrips per week: departures from Hong Kong on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and departures from Lijiang on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The route is served by Airbus A320 aircraft. The scheduled flight time is 3 hours 05 minutes from Hong Kong and 2 hours 50 minutes from Lijiang.
Lijiang is known for the stone-paved streets of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town of Lijiang and the breathtaking views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. From Japan, same-day connections are available via Tokyo/Narita and Osaka/Kansai.
