Malaysia Airlines to deploy A330-900neo on Tokyo/Narita–Kuala Lumpur from Oct 8

Malaysia Airlines will deploy the Airbus A330-900neo on the Tokyo/Narita (Japan) – Kuala Lumpur route starting October 8. It was originally planned for September 29 but has been changed.

On flights MH89/88, it will operate one round trip per day during the summer schedule; during the winter schedule it will operate five round trips per week, excluding Tokyo/Narita departures on Mondays and Tuesdays and Kuala Lumpur departures on Mondays and Sundays.

Malaysia Airlines took delivery of its first Airbus A330-900 in November 2024. The aircraft is configured with 297 seats—28 in Business Class and 269 in Economy Class—and features more personal space, larger overhead bins, the latest in-flight entertainment, and high-speed Wi‑Fi.

Currently, the Tokyo/Narita–Kuala Lumpur route is operated with Airbus A350-900 and Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
