JR Inn Chitose Introduces “KiHa 281 Train Room” for Reservations
JR Inn Chitose has started accepting reservations for the “KiHa 281 Train Room” as of October 14.
The “KiHa 281” debuted in March 1994 and was retired on October 23, 2022. To mark its one-year retirement anniversary, guestroom usage will commence from October 23. The room features various train parts that have been removed from the actual operating vehicles. The driver’s console, including the Master Controller, can be freely operated, and guests can enjoy the sensation of being a train conductor while watching the front-view video.
The price starts from 30,000 yen (including tax and service charges) for one room (room-only). Up to two people can stay. As a special benefit, guests will receive a replica of the portable timetable used by conductors, an original lodging certificate, and the opportunity to take a commemorative photo in the lobby wearing the same uniform and cap as actual train conductors. Reservations are being accepted on the official website.
In the guest-exclusive JR Inn Lounge, green car seats for two people from the same train series are also available.
