JR East View Tourism Launches Ski Tour Using Overnight ‘Omoide no Spur’ Train
Tobu Top Tours began selling travel packages on September 18 that use the special overnight train “Nikko Autumn Foliage Night Express 23:45” in Japan.
The plan uses a special overnight train that departs Asakusa Station at 11:45 p.m. and arrives at Tobu-Nikko Station the following morning. You can sightsee during the relatively uncrowded morning hours, avoiding congestion and traffic. Operation dates are October 18, 24, 25, 31 and November 2 and 7, departing Asakusa Station. En route, boarding is also available at Kita-Senju, Shin-Koshigaya, and Kasukabe stations.
Available only as part of a travel package, with buses after arrival at Tobu-Nikko Station to Oku-Nikko’s Chuzenji Onsen and Yumoto Onsen. A “spacious two-seat use” option that secures the adjacent seat is set for all dates, using Tobu’s 500 series “Revaty” rolling stock.
Both a round-trip plan (outbound by the “Nikko Autumn Foliage Night Express 23:45,” return by Tobu Railway) and a one-way plan (return on your own) are offered, and the round-trip plan can also be booked without the round-trip bus to Oku-Nikko. Details are provided on the company’s dedicated domestic tours website.
