Japan Airlines (JAL) is running a “JAL International Flights Upgrade Award Mile-Back Campaign” on its Tokyo/Haneda and Tokyo/Narita – Chicago routes from September 21 to October 25.
The mileage-back amounts are 10,000 miles for an upgrade from Business Class to First Class, and 8,000 miles for an upgrade from Economy Class or Premium Economy Class to Business Class.
Eligible flights are all services between Tokyo/Haneda or Tokyo/Narita and Chicago for upgrades to First Class, and JL9 (Chicago to Tokyo/Haneda) only for upgrades to Business Class. Upgrades to Premium Economy Class are not eligible.
No campaign registration is required, and same-day airport upgrade services are not eligible. Bonus miles will be credited 1–2 months after travel.
