AirJapan began offering a paid in-flight seat change service on November 1.
Sales are conducted onboard depending on seat availability, and interested passengers must request it from a cabin crew member. Even if seats are available, the service may not be offered due to operational conditions. It is not sold on the website or at airport counters.
Fees vary by route and the location you move to: Tokyo/Narita–Bangkok and Tokyo/Narita–Singapore cost 1,300 to 4,000 yen, while Tokyo/Narita–Seoul/Incheon costs 500 to 1,500 yen.
The highest fees apply to the front rows 1–9, as well as the extra-legroom rows 10 and 30 and the exit-row seats. The lowest fees apply to rows 11–28 and 31–42, or when moving within the same seat category.
