Spring Japan has scheduled extra flights for the Tokyo/Narita to Sapporo/Chitose route on December 30th.
The additional flights were arranged due to the cancellation of two round-trip flights on the same route by Jetstar Japan, as a result of a strike by members of the Jetstar Crew Association, a labor union. The flights will be operated using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
In response to the impact of the strike, Jetstar Japan is advising affected passengers that they can opt for (1) transfer to another flight of the company, (2) a refund, or (3) rebooking onto a flight of another carrier including JAL Group flights or using other public ground transportation excluding taxis, with a full refund of the used portion. If an overnight stay becomes necessary, the airline will cover costs up to 8,000 yen.
Furthermore, Spring Japan has announced a delay of 1 hour and 45 minutes in its Tokyo/Narita to Hiroshima route IJ625/626 flights. The Tokyo/Narita departure IJ625 flight is rescheduled from 4:05 PM to 5:50 PM, and the Hiroshima departure IJ626 flight from 6:35 PM to 8:20 PM.
As of now, for the Tokyo/Narita to Sapporo/Chitose route, Jetstar Japan flights are fully booked for both ways, Spring Japan flights are fully booked excluding the extra flights, and Peach Aviation has full bookings for flights departing from Tokyo/Narita. On December 30th, there were also six flight cancellations, constituting three round trips on the same route.
