EQT Acquires Arlanda Express Operator A-Train and Plans Major Investment
JR Kyushu and the city of Kitakyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture will enhance the Kitakyushu Airport access service known as the “Kanda Station Limited Express Route.”
In conjunction with the timetable revision to be implemented on March 14, 2026, the number of limited express trains stopping at Kanda Station will be increased from the current 10 trains in total (both directions combined) to a maximum of 16 trains, mainly in the morning and evening. In addition, an integrated timetable will be created with the Airport Bus Kanda Line that connects Kanda Station and Kitakyushu Airport.
There will be more trains departing Hakata Station in the morning and departing Kanda Station at night, and travel opportunities from Tobata Station will also increase. The airport buses will generally depart about 5 to 15 minutes after the arrival of limited express trains, and about 15 to 20 minutes after the arrival of aircraft.
The operators will continue to review which trains stop at the station and the number of services based on actual usage.
