Japanese Airlines Cancel Some Flights to Eastern and Midwestern U.S. Due to Severe Cold Wave
Japanese airlines have decided to cancel some flights, as severe cold waves bringing low temperatures and snowfall are expected to cause bad weather in the eastern and midwestern regions of the United States.
The strong cold-air mass, named “Fern,” is expected to move across the United States through the weekend. Heavy snowfall is forecast for cities such as Boston and New York. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is urging travelers to check the latest operational information.
All Nippon Airways (ANA) has decided to cancel flights to and from New York/John F. Kennedy on January 25 and 26, and flights to and from Washington, D.C., on January 25. Japan Airlines (JAL) has canceled flights to and from Dallas; New York/John F. Kennedy; Chicago; and Boston from January 23 to 25. Other airlines have also already decided on cancellations and delays.
