Cebu Pacific to Suspend Sapporo/Chitose – Manila Route from June 2
Qantas Airways will increase flights on its Sapporo/New Chitose–Sydney route in the next winter schedule.
The route resumed operations as a seasonal scheduled service from December 15, 2025, after an interval of approximately five years and nine months. During this winter schedule, it is operated three round trips per week.
In the next winter schedule, the route will operate seasonally from December 7 to March 31, 2027. From December 16 to January 31, it will operate five round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays; from February 1 to 28, it will operate four round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; and at other times it will operate three round trips per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. As a result, capacity on this route will increase by more than 50%, with more than 10,000 additional seats supplied.
Nick McGlynn, Senior Vice President Asia, commented, “The response to our Sapporo–Sydney direct service this season has been extremely strong, once again demonstrating the close ties between Japan and Australia. Although we are only halfway through the season, thousands of customers have already traveled on this route, and we are seeing strong demand for the second half of the season as well. Next season, we are very pleased to be able to offer even more seats both to customers in Hokkaido who wish to experience Sydney’s warm climate, beautiful harbor, and vibrant culture, and to customers in Australia who want to visit Hokkaido’s world‑renowned ski resorts.”
