H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (HIS), a major Japanese travel agency, has been offering “BOLEH BOLEH Ride,” a shared transportation service using an on-demand transport system powered by artificial intelligence, since February 1.
“BOLEH BOLEH Ride” is a service that utilizes the system of “mobi,” an on-demand transportation service that makes use of artificial intelligence (AI). After entering the departure point and destination in the dedicated app, the expected boarding and arrival times are displayed and a vehicle can be arranged. Based on road conditions and ride requests, AI calculates the route, enabling passengers to share rides to their destinations.
The service operates in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with designated stops at major tourist attractions such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur Tower, Jalan Alor, Pavilion, Central Market, Chinatown, Merdeka Square, Bukit Bintang, and Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station. It also stops at major hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, EQ Kuala Lumpur, Hotel Maya, InterContinental, and PARKROYAL Serviced Suites.
The operating hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and each vehicle can accommodate up to 12 passengers. To use the service, users must download the dedicated “mobi Community Mobility” app. Drivers who speak English or Malay are on board, and rides are shared with local general passengers. Travelers using eligible products from HIS’s individual travel brand “Ciao” can use the service free of charge as many times as they like during their stay.
