Lufthansa German Airlines will launch flights on the Frankfurt–Kuala Lumpur route on October 25.
The airline will operate five round trips per week, with departures from Frankfurt on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and departures from Kuala Lumpur on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The route will be operated with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jens Ritter commented, “With the introduction of new non-stop flights to Kuala Lumpur and the latest Dreamliner, we have created the ideal conditions to contribute to growth in Southeast Asia. Our innovative Allegris cabin offers our customers the highest level of comfort and embodies our premium focus on delivering a first-class travel experience for both leisure and business travelers.”
Malaysia welcomed 42.2 million tourists in 2025. Germany is Malaysia’s most important trading partner in Europe, and more than 700 German companies have a presence in Malaysia. Among the Lufthansa Group airlines, Lufthansa is the only one serving Malaysia, making Kuala Lumpur the third destination in Southeast Asia for the group.
