Rakuten Travel Launches “Toku Tabi Campaign” Offering Up to 15x Points on Domestic Stays in Japan
Omio is entering the Japanese market and launching its services in Japan.
Japan becomes the 47th market Omio has entered. The platform will support integrated reservations for Shinkansen bullet trains, local railways, flights, buses, and ferries, as well as purchases of the Japan Rail Pass. Omio also highlights the convenience of its support for 32 languages and 33 currencies.
This move responds to growing demand from inbound visitors to Japan and marks Omio’s first entry into East Asia. It follows the company’s expansion of services into Southeast Asia and Brazil. Omio plans to roll out services in more than 70 markets worldwide by 2028.
Omio was founded in 2013 and operates under two brands, Omio and Rome2Rio. Through Omio, the company sells more than 100,000 tickets per day. It has offices in Berlin, Prague, Melbourne, Bengaluru, and Singapore, and employs more than 430 people.
