JR East Implements Fare Revision on March 14, Raising Base Fares and Abolishing Discounted Tokyo Area Zones
East Japan Railway Company (JR East) will begin providing Suica-based ticket gate services on the Kururi Line between Kisarazu and Kururi stations in Chiba Prefecture, Japan.
The system is being introduced to improve convenience for passengers, as there is currently a high volume of travel to and from the existing Suica service area. Simple Suica ticket gates are scheduled to be installed at each station. The service is planned to start around spring 2027. It will not be introduced on the Kururi–Kazusa-Kameyama section, which is scheduled to be discontinued around the same time.
As a result, travel using IC cards will become possible on all JR lines within Chiba Prefecture.
