British Airways will launch a London/Heathrow–Kuala Lumpur–Melbourne route on January 9, 2027.
The airline will operate one round trip per day. The route will be served by a four-class Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The scheduled flight time is 22 hours 15 minutes from London/Heathrow, and 23 hours 45 minutes from Melbourne.
Melbourne has the largest community of British expatriates in Australia, while London is a hub for both business and tourism, and the airline expects demand in both directions.
