Japan Airlines (JAL) held a ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its Nagoya–Honolulu route.
A ceremony was held to coincide with the departure of flight JL797 from Nagoya/Chubu on April 3 and flight JL798 to Honolulu on April 4. At both airports, the 40th anniversary of the route’s launch was celebrated with hula dancing. Passengers received eco bags as commemorative gifts.
The Nagoya/Komaki–Honolulu route was inaugurated on April 4, 1986. Currently, JAL operates four round trips per week to and from Nagoya/Chubu, and from June 29 to August 31 the airline will operate one round trip per day. At the time of launch, the route was operated with Boeing 747-200 aircraft. Today, JAL is the only airline operating this route. (Photo: JAL)
