
Rakuten Travel Offers 1,000 Rakuten Points for Rental Car and Car Sharing Bookings
H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (HIS) made Kokoro Kikaku, which plans and sells travel goods, a consolidated subsidiary as of March 31.
Kokoro Kikaku was established in March 2023. Based in Japan, it operates the travel goods brand “Tabine,” whose brand concept is “Lighten Your Travel.” The company has capital of 1 million yen. HIS acquired 70% of the issued shares. The acquisition price was 175 million yen.
HIS positions the retail and e-commerce business, which has a high affinity with its core travel business, as one of its next pillars of growth and aims to develop its own brands. Going forward, the company plans to expand its lineup to include healthcare products and lightweight bags, and to broaden sales channels to brick-and-mortar stores such as shops in airports and train stations in Japan, as well as partner accommodation facilities.
