Qatar Civil Aviation Authority to Gradually Resume Foreign Airlines’ Flights to Doha Hamad International Airport
Fuji Dream Airlines has announced the applicable fuel surcharge amounts for flight tickets issued in May.
The routes are divided into three categories, with surcharges set between 2,800 and 3,000 yen. For tickets issued in April, the surcharge ranged from 700 to 1,300 yen, meaning it will be raised by up to four times.
In March, the market price of Singapore kerosene was 191.2 US dollars, and the exchange rate was 158.6 yen per 1 US dollar. These levels significantly exceeded the amounts set in the existing fuel surcharge application table, and even after taking into account government subsidies, they were still above the set levels. However, due to concerns that the sharp increase would place a heavier burden on passengers and could cause confusion, Fuji Dream Airlines will keep the surcharge at the upper limit of the existing application table.
Fuji Dream Airlines is the only domestic airline in Japan that collects a fuel surcharge on its domestic routes. The amount collected is calculated based on the market price of Singapore kerosene and the exchange rate two months prior to the month of ticket issuance.
