JR East to Suspend Limited Express Trains on June 3 Due to Typhoon No. 6
The Central Bank of Cuba will suspend the use of Visa and Mastercard within Cuba from June 6.
This measure follows the termination of business relationships between foreign banks outside Cuba that use these brands and FINCIMEX SA. It is said to be related to the executive order issued by U.S. President Donald Trump on May 1.
From that date onward, the only payment methods available in Cuba will be cash, domestic prepaid cards Classic and Tropical, and the international payment brands Mir and UnionPay.
The Embassy of Japan in Cuba is urging travelers to gather up-to-date information carefully and to bring enough U.S. dollar or euro cash so they will not face difficulties before departure.
