Japan Airlines (JAL) will hold an event to mark the end of operations of its special livery aircraft “DREAM SHO JET” (Airbus A350-900, registration: JA08XJ), featuring Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States.
The final flight will be flight JL326 from Fukuoka to Tokyo/Haneda on June 10. To coincide with the departure of JL323, the final flight departing from Tokyo/Haneda, JAL will display a life-size panel of Ohtani at the boarding gate, make special announcements, and have employees see off the aircraft at the parking spot.
As a special aircraft operated as the symbol of JAL’s “DREAM MILES PASS” project, launched in September 2024 to support young people pursuing their dreams, it entered service on September 29 of the same year. The design features a large illustration of Ohtani on the rear fuselage, showcasing his dual role as both pitcher and batter. The left side centers on Ohtani as a batter wearing a helmet, while the right side centers on Ohtani as a pitcher wearing a glove.
