Rakuten Group has launched ‘JR Rakupack Red Balloon’ on its travel booking site ‘Rakuten Travel,’ which allows customers to combine JR Shinkansen and limited express trains with accommodations.
By entering a destination and schedule, customers can check a list of over 4,000 participating accommodations, accommodation plans, and JR Shinkansen and limited express trains. After selecting the desired products, customers can proceed to the Japan Travel site to reserve their seat and complete payment. Shinkansen and limited express train tickets can be picked up at station reserved-seat ticket machines. The service is planned and operated by Japan Travel.
Customers can also use discount coupons provided by Rakuten Travel, and if eligible, combine coupons for additional savings. The service also supports the use and accumulation of Rakuten Points.
