ZIPAIR Tokyo Launches Pre-Order Model and Figure In-Flight Service on All Routes
JAL Cargo Handling (JCH), which is responsible for air cargo handling within the JAL Group, has been certified as a “Registered Training Institution” for forklift operation.
From June 15, it will begin offering a “Forklift Operation Skills Training Course” at its own training center. This marks the first time in Japan’s aviation industry that a company has been certified as a registered training institution and is providing, to external participants, a comprehensive program from training to the issuance of a Forklift Operation Skills Training Completion Certificate.
At Narita Airport, cargo handling volume is expected to increase from the current approximately 2 million tons to around 3 million tons in line with functional expansion targeted for around 2029, making the securing and training of forklift operators an urgent task. With this new certification, JCH has established an integrated training system that enables trainees starting without qualifications to complete basic education in as little as one month, compared with the usual three months or more.
The courses will be conducted at two locations: Training Center 1 in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture (within the Sun Air Cargo Service premises), and Training Center 2 in Shibayama Town, Sambu District, Chiba Prefecture (inside the Kyowa Tsusho Narita Airport South Logistics Center). There will be a four-day, 31-hour course for those who hold an ordinary driver’s license or equivalent, and a five-day, 35-hour course for those without a license.
